Another past favorite of mine, bought this car in the shape you see, I just added the decals the day I bought the car, this photo was taken that day. Only thing I ever had to do to the car is put a new bushing in the shifter and a new cloth top. Herbie never let us down and would always fire the first turn of the key, even on them cold winters. I think if I could ever have a car back this would be one of them.
Cool, I remember the Love Bug too! Certainly from my era.
I love your Herbie... My first Car was a 62 vw karma Ghia... Aqua... I loved that car... Maybe I will get another one.
I think I have had 7 Karmann Ghias and about 35 total VW's. Only VW I've never owned was a VW Thing.
My friend owns a thing.. its really a cool car.. I've owned around 15 vw. I love all of them, fastback ~ Beattle convertiable~Jetta~Rabbit~......
When I was stationed Germany 1961, I bought a white 1949 VW Bug from another
soldier for $200.00. drove it for two years and sold it to another soldier when I left Germany. Great car.
