This is possibly Talavera, but the glazes remind me more of the glazes used on California tiles in the 20s-30s. It's 4" square and by the color of the clay, probably Mexican or Catalina? Whichever - it's a great little tile!

Well, he's ORANGE, so he'll fit right in with your other collections...?!!! <lol>
      :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I think I've seen that 'skeleton dude' somewhere before (more than once?) but can't remember the where's/why's at the moment...was he used to advertise cigarette rolling papers maybe...??? (and I don't know where *that* came from either...not enough coffee yet this AM...)

Well all I can come up with now is a (the?) GRATEFUL DEAD "DANCING SKELETON", I've never been a deadhead so don't really know that story...his hat on your tile isn't right for most of them, but a variation maybe...??

This is the calavera of a pachuco - sort of a wise guy from the 1940s-60s.
