3/4 Bust of a Cherubic Boy - Glazed and Gilded Porcelain. It's much heavier/thicker than it appears. It's about 8 inches high and 5 inches wide. Cute face and perfect gilding. Italian, i think, but not signed anywhere. Any info appreciated!
Such a great find!! I love this piece.
thank you jscotto! it's really well-made and has some age to it.
i found out that this boy is one of a pair of the Bourbon children and it was made by many different European kilns including Staffordshire, Meissen, Dresden, Sitzendorf, etc... This one looks most like the Stafffordshire one and the decoration is a little better than it was on others i saw. But quite a few have come to market in the last dozen years or so, so it could be a knock-off.
