Would you please change out one of your pictures to include a picture showing the entire item?
I like the parts I see but I have no idea what the item is. Also, let everyone know the dimensions.

      Hi, Lachriseja. :-)

I suspect Newfld is right in that the clown is supposed to resemble Pierrot.

Here are a couple of others (sorry about the eBay listings):

      *snip*

Clown Biscuit Cookie Jar Shoten Trico Porcelain Hand Painted Pierrot

      *snip*

      https://www.ebay.com/itm/224502018763

      *snip*

Art Deco Shoten Trico Japan Porcelain Clown Cookie Biscuit Jar w/ Lid & Handle. about 7 inches high by 7 inches wide. Note small line inside of top (picture 5)which I think is a manufacturer’s defect seen in similar pieces.

Last picture I’m just showing how I had displayed. In the past I have seen the exact clown marked Noritake.

      Here's the Noritake inspiration:

      About Trico:

      *snip*

Trico China is a Tashiro Shoten Mark (see White'book mark #11)

      *snip*

      https://modernjapanesepotterymarks.blogspot.com/2014/09/made-in-japan.html

Apparently that "White" reference is this:

      *snip*

"Collector's Guide to Made in Japan Ceramics" Carole Bess White Vol. 1-4

      *snip*

It's a little head-achey finding all four volumes of that book. Here's a start:
