This Upson Piq-hol-o gadget came to me via some cousins doing a clean out. It had my grandmas name on it. She was married in the early 1930’s so it could be from the middle decades of the 20thC. Made by Celco in Sydney. I’ve only found one other example online from about 10 years ago. Were these little pocket flashlights ineffective or expensive, or simply bettered quickly by larger torches?

      Neat. Does it work?

Charmsoneone, I haven’t forced it open yet to see what type of batteries it takes. I’ll let you know if I can get it working.
