This thorn vase is a soft beige color that was created by casing opaque white glass in transparent pale amber glass (best seen in the thorns), and also cased with a pink interior. It is cut at an angle that I believe to be original to the piece, especially after recently acquiring another Loetz thorn that I believe to be related to PNI-3108 (image 4), that I mention in a connected post. The same décor is shown on several pieces identified as Loetz in Dr. Hai Hasselbach’s artcle ‘An attempt to identify early Loetz production from 1880 -1897’ on Loetz.com. Photos two and three are from his article. Photo three has the same color pink inner glass color as that of my vase.

Thank you Peggy! I was excited to see how they were related; I love making these kinds of connections in our collections. :)

Just magical, Michelle & great research as well!
I have a couple of pieces in the ballpark of this vase, with some variations -
      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/234400-victorian-cased-glass-triple-cornucopia
This one has the same colour scheme but ribbed decor instead of thorns. There is a uranium content in the middle layer.
      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/218088-victorian-spherical-cased-glass-thorn-va
This is not the same colour but has the same thorns & raggedly cut top rim, & crazy "wheels" instead of feet.

Marin, thank you so much for your comments - I think you solved a mystery for me! I had not seen your (what I call) daisy-footed vase before, and I have one with the same feet, in what I now believe is Loetz's 'Aurora' decor. I commented on your footed vase...
