Anne-dolls by Lærdal (1950/53-1965). See another Anne at: https://digitaltmuseum.no/021028379534/dukke. If you read the history of the Lærdal dolls, it seems the original mold was from the US. I was very happy when I got my dark haired doll from my mom, as my opinion was that it looked just like her! My old Teddy, possibly a Steiff toy is also on one photo. I believe I got my teddy from my dad when I was around one year old, which makes it 65 years old now. It has lost all its fur on the stomach, and its nose is rather flattened by use. I faintly remember some talk about there being a button in its ear that my mom had taken out because she didn't want any children to bite it off and choke on it, but this may be a "fake" memory. The flat nose gives my teddy a slightly surprised look. The Hawaii-Anne came with a "grass skirt", a bangle on the wrist and som kind of flower arrangement around the neck that all got played away. Her hair is shiny and long, but alas, it is only fastened along the hairline around the head, and she is the way she was was made; bald in the middle. Too bad for aspiring hair dressers! My first doll was a blonde, shorthaired Anne doll, which I loved dearly. To my chagrin, one of my small playmates took my doll once I sat playing with her in my garden, and she abruptly left with it and ran out the garden gate, only to return her some time later with cut bangs, declaring the doll looked much better and that the hair "would eventually grow out". I was completely horrified and wailed for days on end, until my mom went to some sort of factory outlet of slightly damaged doll-ware - so to speak - and got me a completely new doll head for my Anne doll. With long blonde hair, as seen in my profile photo. I was extremely happy with her new looks! But I can still recall the utter horror and feeling of despair from that time, being only about 4 years old when it happened. A shellsetting experience! And as we all know: The hair never grew back on the discarded head!
So nice you still have your childhood toys ! Welcome to CW
