1951 Chevrolet Pickup Diecast Model
Scale: 1/24th
Brand: Dub City
This is another present that my nephew had given me. He found it used used at the thrift store. Just like a real classic truck, it needed a little work.
The right rear tailgate chain holder(on the tailgate) was missing. I used a metal circuit board stand off, cut it to size and added a dab of solder. It looks better than the plastic pieces..and you can see the original chromed plastic one is peeling.
One quick thing to note..in the early days, trucks and cars only had one rear taillight.
DUB CITY
"Jada Toys, was based near Los Angeles, in the City of Industry, California. They introduced their first diecast vehicles as novelty items in the form of two key chain rings. A Chevrolet pick up truck key chain and flash light combination and a Motor Max PT Curise casting as just a key chain."
"The company remained in obscurity until the introduction of the urban-themed DUB City brand. Launched in collaboration with DUB Magazine in 2002, the line presents officially licensed vehicles with custom rims, lowered ride height and special in-car entertainment systems. Dubs, so named for their 20-inch or bigger wheels, are among the company's best sellers and the most visible in retail outlets."
Awesome diecast model Dave!! You have a very thoughtful nephew!
Thanks Scott. I edited the picture to show the part I made.
