Bought this Bike on a from a guy I stopped at his house because he had alot of stuff in his yard on a backroad in VA. He had over 250 bicycles some late model BMX stuff and Moutain Bikes mostly that he saved from the dump but....over in the corner I spotted this Bike and struck a deal for it. It is a 60's Sears Spaceliner All Chrome Frame, the lower forks were painted black I believe originaly, and the pedals are incorrect and the hubcap & tank are missing plus 1 wheel is incorrect, but still a great project bike & or trade piece !!

Based on the 'serated' chainguard, I'm pretty sure this is a Western Flyer 'Cosmic Flyer'. The Spaceliner and Cosmic Flyer shared a lot of parts (even the 'hubcap') but that chainguard is distinctly Cosmic Flyer.

Hi DavesCoolStuff, Thanks for the input ! I have not compared this to a Cosmic Flyer but after your input I did & I do beleive you are correct. I see the serated chainguard in pictures on the web in "63 & '65 models. The frame is what I was going by to say it was a Spaceliner. It did not have a badge of any sorts nor any paint left on the chainguard. So I do thank you!

Usually, the only identification on these bikes were on the tanks and the chainguards (sometimes you can still see the ghost image of the bike name on the chainguard).
Comparing the frames, they are mostly identical but there are slight differences. The main one is the amount of space between the top and bottom tubes at the seat post, I think the Spaceliner has less space between the two.
