I was just given a pair of these and I'm not sure of their intent nor the name of the style. Also, I have other Iittala glassware, but none with the etched peace dove in the "window frame." I also don't know when they were crafted. Would appreciate any information you can provide!
Exactly! Thank you so much! I looked with the naked eye on the bottom for a "signature" and didn't see anything, but after your comment, took a magnifying glass and then could see.
Would you know the story of the dove etching? Karin
Hi, this is the dove of peace holding an olive branch, goe's right back to the story of Noah and the Ark, now used by many organizations :-)
It's Iittala's MARCEL vase by Timo Sarpaneva... there were a lot of Marcel items in the shops when I started collecting glass, so I think they were designed between 1995 and 2000.
