USMC Jacket

This is so full of amazingly interesting details that I would love to know more about. It's also one of the coats I thought I'd try to return to its owner if I could manage to find them. (It's been a struggle to even look. I've heard that a lot of our military who fought overseas truly did not want these things when they came home. Not sure how common that is, and the last thing I would ever want to do is cause a veteran any distress.) Back to the jacket .. I'm not sure if this is something legitimately created by a member of our military or not. I'm the proud daughter of a US Marine. My dad went to Korea to fight. He's gone now, and I greatly miss him. If he were here today, I'd be bring all these coats to him asking with my 10,001 questions. ???? Thanks for reading this.
