Unknown Unusual wooden Peace. Please Help to I.D. it.

I Fellow collectors, I dug this thing out of an old Pennsylvania barn. I'm going to need some help Identifying it. My guess is for an old electric line. it's 72 inches overall. Both ends are threaded. Made from one peace of wood. Has small wooden Dowels along one side.
