Hello everyone!!
A set of steeplechase bookends that I recently acquired. These bookends are incredibly detailed in every possible way. I love everything about this set. Though they have the appearance of bronze, they're actually resin. I'm not a fan of resin at all and don't typically buy anything made of resin, but I just couldn't pass these up when I saw them. They measure 9" tall, 7 1/4" deep and 4 3/4" wide. They're solid and quite heavy.

I realize that resin now has certainly advanced since the early 90's when they really started to pour these out. They used to have telltale signs of being repro when the detail was not there. Now they are VERY detailed. In 20 years almost 95% + statues on this site will be reproductions. On a positive note I like your purchase. As bookends the real ones now would cost upwards of 700$+. You should enjoy these as they will last your lifetime and give you joy !~

Thanks very much!! You're absolutely correct about resin today. Some of the resin pieces you see today are pretty spectacular. I do love these bookends and very glad I did purchase them.

Horse and bourbon country? Sounds like central Kentucky where my family settled in the 1790s. Great design concept for these bookends!
