    Fits in the palm of the hand so not very big. Turning the knob moves it up and down. Thank you for any help.

      Looks upside down...appears that there is a roller at the bottom. My guess is a pipe tool...like a press or a rolling tool to shape

      Does turning the knobs move the flat bar or just the circular pad?

      Verified that it is indeed a chisel sharpening jig. Put the chisel into it, tighten and use a stone to sharpen. Thanks for the input.

      Jig for maintaining the correct angle for sharpening a chisel or plane blade on an oilstone.
