We found these heavy 1.1 kg (each) cast iron swords at a flea market recently and we were wondering what they could have been used for. They are gothic in style, have beautiful scroll designs allover and appear to have been cast in one piece. They are both signed on the undecorated tip with ENGLAND, are identical and measure 17" long by 5 1/2" by 1/2" thick (at handle). If they were armorial swords, why would they have these sinewy blades (Kris Shaped). I have been unable to find anything like these online. Any ideas?

Low quality casting is indicative of decorative pieces.

Agree decorative pieces, but an unusual form.
