Cleaning out my late aunts home, we came across this chair. Does anyone know how I tell if its an original? It was purchased in LA in the 50s, but that is all we know.

It's called the LCW = Lounge Chair Wood.
      Google "LCW 1948".
Is there the five-two-five screw configuration on the underside?
      Stencil markings? Date and Year.
An example is on this page bottom left:
      http://eamesdesigns.com/catalog-entry/lcw-1948/
Labels could/should be there. Evans Products Company? Herman Miller?

Your chair is a great piece of craft.I admire it.

Here are pictures of the underside. The stenciling is not the same as the picture on the link you suggested. Nor is there any sign of a label. Could it be an imitation?

This chair's back is on upside-down, so at first glance it didn't look authentic, but it probably is. Do you have a photo of the front/underside? Also, a little bigger that the one you posted would help.

this is a nice early birch example.
ca. 1946-49 as evidenced by the 5 screws at the front and back . this is produced by the evans plywood company for herman miller previous to the herman miller production.
      great chair!
