The Original Farmhouse Kitchen Sink ! It dates from about 1935. Probably originally sat on top of a metal cabinet base. It measures 60" inches X 25" inches. No chips. The porcelain finish is very nice. Has not been scrubbed hard over the years. Its extremely heavy.
Thank you for looking!
It’s just “Show and Tell”…just to look at and enjoy and learn from other members.
I posted my own cast iron sink but mine only has 1 drain board and 1 basin and has a tall back-splash.
Yours looks so new. Maybe it has been refinished.
I had my own sink refinished and I use it in one of my bathrooms in lieu of the usually type of sink and counter/cabinet.
If you will turn your sink over and check the bottom, you will probably find the exact date of manufacture and the name of the foundry where it was poured.
Thanks! I cant turn it over. Way too heavy. Lol. And I know this is show and tell. That was me thinking out loud. It has not been refinished. The man I got it from just took it out of an old house that was about to be torn down. It is in very good condition for its age. Not sure when I will ever get it turned over. We had a struggle getting it here.
I totally understand about the struggle to move one of these things! When the man who refinished the old tub I had bought from a junk store delivered it to me, he refused to take the tub upstairs where it would be installed. He said he had already ruined his back doing work on these old tubs and sinks.
It took 4 strong people to get it upstairs!
When I was trying to refresh my memory of the date of manufacture of my tub, I slid my phone under the tub and made several pictures….didn’t have to turn it over…..you might try that.
Hmmm..... do you remember where on the tub you saw the date? Because thats a great idea! Thank you!
On my tub, the date, manufacturer and mold numbers are in large raised letters toward the back end.
