I was given this vase and I would like some help identifying it please. I was told it was made around 1972 and they paid $100 for it then. He said it came from Florence Italy. There is a mark where it came off the blowing pole, but no additional markings. Any ideas?
The glass from the Tuscan area is from Empoli, just west of Florence or Firenze. Most of what we normally see of Empoli glass is the beautiful green color, a natural by-product of the ferrous oxide found in the sands of the local rivers that is used in the making of the glass.

But there were a lot of glasshouses in the area that did some different work:
Cristalleria Arno, Cristalleria Fratelli Betti , Stelvia, Savia, Stilvetro, Clave, Cive, Cesa and more...
I think this vase may be by the Cristalleria Fratelli Betti, Empoli 1954-1982.
It was run by three brothers Danilo, Loris and Josè Betti. They took over an existing factory called Vetreria Rioda run by the Mori family. They ran the factory until the early seventies and then it was run by the workers there until closure in 1982.
To say that I love this...would be an understatement. Fantastic!
