This is an unusual Pepsi Cola branded item in the form of a bottle cap which is a mystery to us. The piece is a little over 7 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches deep. It is very heavy and appears to be made of bronze or brass (it is non-magnetic) and red, white, and blue enamel. The back includes multiple machined screw holes around the edge, with some discoloration around the holes. The Pepsi Cola logo/trademark seems to be associated with the mid-to-late 1940s, with the full red script, double-dot (or colon) vs. later single-dot, and patriotic tri-color design. The metal work is stippled in the creases of the bottle cap edges, nicely patinated, and well made. There is some discoloration in the white enamel around the edges of the red script. The piece came out of an estate full of military and mid-century items. The date and source of this piece is unknown. All thoughts are welcome.
