I found this old poster from the USSR from 1930. A friend gave me a rough translation of 'celebrate soviet women worker day.' the crowd of people in the lower background seems t have been very popular in the 1930s. i love the look of it w/ all my other pictures. This one was framed very nicely with a deep green, decent quality frame - framed at a gallery in brooklyn. i've always admired artwork influenced by the Russian avant-garde.
apparently, this poster was reprinted in the usa by the modern art museum in the 1980s and in the soviet union in the 1970s, but the reprints are slightly different. i think that this is an original, which is considered 'rare and difficult to find'.
his style of poster - influenced heavily by the russian avant-garde, is called 'constructivist'.
