A pair of C2s and a pair of C3s. I do recall at least one C1 but I have posted it before. It is pink. As for the C system for Corvettes whenever there is a major redesign there is a new C designation. The latest mid-engine version is the C8. There is much gnashing of teeth over that from Corvette fans but they outperform cars 2 to 3 times the price and they are all sold before they can unload the truck. As for the classic Corvettes those would be the C1 through the C3. The C2 was sold from 1963 through 1967 and then the C3 pretty much forever, Or until the 80s something like that.
Always wanted one (no matter what year/model) but never got one, which I've always tried to resolve myself with (I think) because the things were also alway$ a huge PITA to maintain, because GM stuffed such a big engine into that otherwise kinda tiny often fiberglass 2-seater body, and I also always tended towards the Ford blue ovals instead...?
...so I ended up with a '74 Thunderbird land yacht instead... <headdesk><LOL>
These are classics. Love Corvettes old or new. Great values. FWIW, I have a 2010 C6 ZR1. ;) Still getting used to the C8 looks but they are fast.
And FWIW, my land yacht has a 460 cu.in. 4bbl under its hood...GM never got anything quite that big stuffed into a 'vette (to my knowledge anyway) and it wouldn't beat a 'vette off the line, but if you keep your foot on it it *will* catch up with and pass the 'vette eventually, while otherwise riding in a leather living room-on-wheels...
<LOLOL>
As a note, the C6 ZR1 is the first GM production car with the Eaton supercharger. It's also the first to hit 200 mph. Historically interesting. My car was redone with Ferrari leather by my brother-in-law. Engine pumps out 638 hp! Not bad for 2010.
fortapache ... forgot to mention my favorite is a '63 split window!
rniederman -- WAY COOL!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Thanks, AnythingObscure ... but I get your point about the 460. Think about the craziness of putting a 7+ liter engine in a Thunderbird! The hood must stretch a mile!
Thank you very much AO. A 74 Tbird is still cool. And a 460 is quite resptable.
Thank you very much rniederman. A C6 ZR1 is super cool although not as cool as a 63. But it would make it through all of Route 66 and back. My favorite is the 68/69 but my best chance to join the club is a C4.
Love these…We had a 66 in the glory years when we were young. It was so hard not to speed. It was Mossport Green with a green leather interior.
I have a C8. 2lt . Z51. Love it and have had many C2’s over the years. Looking forward on getting a C8. Z06 next year.
