Here is a Seth Thomas “Adamantine” clock with black and green marbleized finish (Adamantine is Seth Thomas’ patented celluloid finish that was made in many colors to imitate wood and marble). It strikes the hours on two brass bells, and strikes the half hour on the higher pitched bell. The clock was sold on March 22, 1916 (22 March 1916 is written on the label on the back cover). My customer’s grandparents received this clock as a wedding gift from family members in June 1916.

The case is 18 1/8 inches wide at feet, 11 1/16 inches tall, with 4 1/4 inch time track on dial.

I have a very similiar Seth Thomas adamantine, which I believe is the "Prince" model, but mine has the usual hour gong and passing half hour bell strike.

We have just been given a clock similar to yours. It is black and heavy. The Adamantine is the brown and yellowish color on the flat top. The inside has four adamantine pieces, two on each side, top and bottom. It has the lions heads on the sides. I looked online at 1400+ pieces and did not see one like this one. Most have columns. Is there any way we can find out what the model name is? Also, how should we clean it inside and out? One question please, where can we find a key to wind it up? Sorry for so many question, I'm just tickled to have such a piece.

I also have recently purchased a ST Adamantine with 0019A ( jAN. 1900) STAMPED ON THE BOTTOM. It is in very good shape and has the lions heads on the sides, but with Straight bars through the mouths.
Is this also a "PRINCE" model?

      Welcome to C.W. scuffler.
BigBen hasn't signed on here in a while which is a shame since he really posted some great clocks and appreciated clocks outside of his own preferences.

This model is listed by Tran Duy Ly's reference as "Unlisted No. 1" circa 1900. If you get a chance, please post your clock so we can take a look at it.

One other thing that I failed to mention. This clock's "Ding Dong" movement may not be original to the case or it was a special order. The "Unlisted No. 1" typically cased a Seth Thomas No. 89 8-day time and strike movement with a coiled gong or cathedral bell as they called it originally.
