This bowl was found last week at an ongoing yard sale. It was buried in mud and filled with stagnant water. I’m trying to determine age and maker. The color is unusual.

      Possibly Smith glass?

Is it heavy? Wondering if it's leaded glass?
The cuts made on crystal will be more rounded than the ones made on say an edged glass.
UV light on crystal will make it look purple and blue.

      Looks like the Smith..

Dimensions? How tall and diameter at top?

If it is the right size, I think it is a match for my plate, but TallCakes will know for sure...

I looked at the Smith glass and it does look the same, but could not find this color.

Agree, it is probably the bowl that goes with my plate. TallCakes will probably have some comments.

Note the warning instructions that came with my bowl. You have to be very careful when using these bowls to avoid cracking them. Sounds like there may even be the potential for injury to someone who is too close to the bowl if it cracks.

      It probably weighs 13-15 lbs.

I'm guessing the discoloration is from being buried in mud and most likely a Smith glass reproduction of McKee's 'Rotec'. the only catalog I can find showing the punch bowl and stand isn't too good.

      https://www.eapgs.net/images/73447.jpg

McKee only made 'Rotec' in clear and with gold and ruby stain. Kemple also reproduced some pieces in colors.

It is very heavy and is about 9" tall and is 12" across top. The cuts are not sharp so I don't think it is cut glass, but I could be wrong.
