    Hello,
I was hoping that someone on this site might be able to give me some information about these buttons. My father was metal detecting around the Suck Creek area, just outside of Chattanooga, TN and unearthed these buttons. He's had these for about 35 years now and of all the things that he has found, I am most intrigued by this set of buttons. I think that they may be from the Civil War era, but the design has me baffled. They appear to be Indian related, but they also look like they are military. I have researched them off and on throughout the years but haven’t been able to find out anything on them. If anyone can tell me anything about them I would be thrilled.

These are Victorian era Buttons, two piece with the very popular Horse shoe motif.
