I've had this desk for over 20 years, I recovered it from an old job shack at a steel company who had bought several building and misc things from the corp of engineers after WWII. I have been looking for something similar because it has no markings of manufacture. If anyone has any info I would appreciate the input. It can be sent to lawrencedefever@hotmail.com. I am trying to find the manufacture, approx date and value. It' constructed of I think pine with oak veneer(for sure) and a black slate top.

I have one very similar but with wooden top that my Mother left me. She always called it a "Library Desk". Other than that, I don't know much about it.

Does it say who made it?

I'll have to have a close look this sunday. It's at my Dad's house and that's when I go do his med's for the week. I'll let you know what I find.

Hi soulcoruptor. I looked everywhere on that desk and couldn't find a mark on it. If I find anything about it I'll let you know

We have a desk very similar except for the center drawer. Ours is made by o.c.s Olsen company Chicago. All I can find on the company is an add in an old circular.

i have a desk exactly like this (same center drawer design) w/ a green slate top. there is a sticker inside the left top drawer which says "11th annual international convention and informa show / national association of purchasing agents / los angeles / june 9th to 12th 1926. there are 3 drawers on the right side, 2 on the left (1 at the top and the bottom is a "file" drawer - although it has the look of 3 drawers w/ the 2 handles on the big drawer). I think mine is all oak, the drawers are dove-tailed. Am looking for another one as close as possible to the one I have. I've had mine for over 30 years.

Just saw your comment regarding the desk, I have the exact same desk as yours. I just moved it from my parents prior to the estate sale. My father was a journalist and had the desk in his home office for as long as I can remember. I'm planning to refinish it and use it in my office. Were you able to find any additional info as far as value??
