I love the color and patterns on these dishes. The berry bowls measure 5" in diameter and feature a dogwood spray. The dessert plate measures 6 1/2 " in diameter and is ringed with white peonies. All three pieces are edged in gold and bear a green crested RS Germany stamp.

Does anyone know the approximate age and value of these pieces? I appreciate any information that you might have for me.

RS Germany dates from about 1910- WW2.

It is less desirable than the Prussia marked pieces as it is generally considered to be lesser in quality and more simple and subtle in design. Even pieces equal to the RS Prussia standard will tend to bring less when marked Germany.

I would expect your berry bowls to be in the $20- $35 range for the pair and the small plate to bring about $15- $25. For someone needing to complete a berry set or needing the plate maybe a little more.

Thanks for the info Scott. I've read up on the maker and how the various marks denoted age, origin and value but must admit I was a bit confused. I have other similar pieces marked with a red "made in Germany" and others marked as Bavaria. I'm a casual collector who loves mixing and matching the patterns for special dinners.

The berry bowls may be an RSP pattern-- they look familiar.

      Glad to help.

Hi Oldie. The green berry bowls are in what is called by RS Prussia collectors/book authors as "the dogwood pattern". Actually, there is an overlap in time in which the porcelain is marked in both the RS Prussia red mark and the green and blue RS Germany marks. The production timeframe for these items is about 1901 - 1915. see rsprussia.com and rsprussia.net for more history and information. Hope this helps.

Think there is a similar pattern in burgandy with gold trim.
