    Can anyone please help Identify this doll? I have no idea how old she is. It was thought she maybe french 150 yrs old????? Was looking at purchasing her but not enough information was hoping someone on here could help....

      Any marks on her to go by?

      Owner said she has no markings on back of neck & didn't want to lift her clothing because she is fragile..

      Hmm well it looks like a picture of a picture of a doll. I can't tell what she is.

      Hi,Well she looks to be a wax over composition with molded hair from around the 1860s to 1870s. They are sometimes referred to as pumpkin heads! They are not marked most of the time.Hope it helps!

      I agree with Glenn, and would add that I think she may have been restored, because that fuzzy picture makes her face look very pristine. Most of these dolls have at least a little damage, due to age and fragility of the wax to temperature and environmental changes. I own one, and these dolls also have a kind of zombie look to their faces, due to the glass eyes and pale wax. You should get some clear close ups before deciding you (a) like her, and (b) want to buy her. RubyLane.com often has some for sale, so you can compare prices. Use keywords to find these dolls, such as pumpkin head and wax. Good luck....S.
