Maureen, this is the one I was asking about? It is a Schreiner, yes?
Hi TD1290 and PHeobe1980, Is it Schreiner? There are several Schreiner characteristics that say it could be. They are the white cabochons set with dog tooth prongs, rhinestones on wire stems and if I see it correctly, there is no pin stop. Really need a closer view of where the pin is attached ( not the clasp). All good! However, here are the reasons why I'm hesitant to say it is. Schreiner brooches often have a domed shape, this is a flat one. Secondly and most critically, there is a puddle of solder around the place where the wires attach. One of the hallmarks of Schreiner company and Albert Ambros, head of the company from 1954 on, was the parsimonious use of solder. The connections are pin point soldering.
The best way to definitively find out about this one is to submit it to schreinery.com . There is no charge, but they take a long time to answer. Their experts include Carole Tanenbaum who wrote the Schreiner book and is the world expert on Schreiner. You can up your chances of getting a positive response by finding a similar on that website - I looked but couldn't find one - or by searching worthpoint for a similar one that is signed. If you find a signed one, you have hit the jackpot. Good luck on it! Sorry I can't be more definitive.
Thanks Maureen for all your help. I am sure this lady appreciates it as she has told me so. It was wonderful talking to you! Let's keep in touch! (But not here) I pop in now and then to say hi to a few old friends but never posting here again. You know why....
Thank you both for all your help. Greatly appreciated and learning a lot.
