Unusual Shafford Castle Cup and Saucer.

I don't collect cups and saucers but this one really impressed me with it's so unusual gilded decoration ,it's light luster decoration and
for such a delicate piece the location of wear to the handle etc. shows that it was used over the years. Is it a thistle or burdock type weed ?
It's a change from Roses anyway!
