I've posted several large glass jugs here but this has to be one of the nicest, It has coloured rods over a texture of raised lines. The pontil scar to the base has been ground and polished and the neck is hexagonal. The rim is rounded and in all a well done piece, but by whom I don't know! I think the shape of the neck would rule out Welz or Kralik.

Super piece of Peloton glass! I was watching this, & I'm pleased to see that it's found a very good home!

Thank you, Marin. I was the winning bidder by the princely sum of 17 pence. I always add a random number of pence after the pounds as sometimes it pays off!

It's weird what really grabs us, but as soon as I saw this Peggy it was love.
The hexagonal neck, the body shape, the handle, the bubbles, and then the coloured threads.
How could it ever be improved upon?

Hi Karen, and the best part is we have no idea when it's going to happen next! I think it shows my good taste that you fell for it too!

      Best wishes.

This might very well be a Harrach 'Peleton' vase. This décor was introduced by Harrach in 1879 and patented in 1880 by the glasworks director Wilhelm Kralik.

kairomalte Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. It's much appreciated. Someone else has expressed the same view in a fb group. Certainly I feel it to be a high quality piece.
