Here we have the largest standing early post-war Steiff Cockie Cocker Spaniel. She is 25 cm; this pattern overall is quite rare and was only produced in 10, 17, and 25 cm from 1952 through 1957. (A "new" Cockie was introduced in 1960, and is the better known Steiff model of the breed.)
Cockie is standing and head jointed. She has absolutely magnificent lush light copper colored mohair. Her face and muzzle are quite detailed. She has pert brown and black pupil eyes and a hand embroidered black nose. Her outer muzzle is made from light copper colored velvet and is remarkably constructed. She has an open velvet mouth that is highlighted with black airbrushing around the edges, and pink inside.
I wish I'd had this as a child... we had a cocker spaniel named Sandy that was just this coloration. Just lovely!
