This bottle was recovered from a Philadelphia Historical Urban recovery,
on Saturday September, 17, 2011. Eight sided, round base (cod bottle style). Embossed Vincent's PATENT JULY 18th, 1876. Clear glass.
Looks to be a three piece mold. Top missing, total length with top possibly 5". with broken top as is now 4 1/2". All our digs are documented in full detail including photo's of all recovery's including sherds. Accurate historical data is recorded including soil samples and organic materials including bone and seed. This investigation took place in a brick lined privy. I don't want to bore with data but any one interested I will gladly share. I normally do not join sites as this one because of time limitations. While researching this item I came to find this an informative, well built and concieved site. I have researched and recorded thousands of items, and this bottle form and name escapes me. As of this writing I have not properly identified it. My search will continue. Guessing, it is a medicine it mirrors some British Patents.
One question is, was this sold here if indeed an import. Most of the bottles recovered are medicines and need researching. Nothing pontiled,
the context was Circa 1870 - 1880. Thank You!
