I remember these from when I was out shopping for dinnerware. I saw this but opted for a less colourful version. They are from the mid 1980's.
I got a very large set of Mikasa dinnerware at my local Goodwill a few years ago. There was a Mikasa outlet store not far from here so I assumed the set could have been donated by that store.
My set has a very colorful border. I just use it when I have company since I deem it too nice for my everyday use.
