Fish shaped hashioki

They are about 2.5" long x 1" wide x .5" high. They are indistinctly marked on the bottom, and ceramic, glazed on the tops and side, but not on the bottoms which have a cross hatch etching. They came in an unmarked box, red top and black bottom. They are deep enough that they could probably also be used to hold wasabi or soy sauce, etc. Purchased by the seller who lived in Japan 1988-1997 as a souvenir and never used.
