You have a great collection! How long have you been collecting Halloween items? Do you just come across them or do you actively search? I only ask because I have only recently started to find vintage Halloween and nothing compared to the awesome stuff you have. The more I see the more I want. It has become my new collection obsession. I was also curious as to what kind of price points are normal?
I have made the mistake of paying WAY to much for new obsessions in the past and I would like to have an idea before I start actively searching.
Thanks for sharing your collection it has truly inspired me.

Thanks Vintagemad. I have been collecting vintage Halloween items for about fifteen years. I come across them here and there, and sometimes check Ebay. Right now the prices are down on most pieces due to the economy, and it is a buyers market. The more desireable pieces are pre World War II, German made die cuts, lanterns with paper inserts, and post cards. American made pulp pumpkins and figures are also popular, it all depends on what you like. I collect a little bit of everything. As far as prices go, you can find the U.S. made pulp pumpkins with inserts for about $75.00-$150.00, depending on the size and condition, whereas a two inch German pumpkin with inserts could sell in the range of $150.00-$175.00. Halloween cards are not as plentiful as vintage Christmas cards, and they are priced in the range of $15.00-$30.00 depending on the subject matter. Certain illustrators such as Clapsaddle command higher prices. Around this time of year most dealers will display their Halloween items and raise the prices. If you know what to look for, sooner or later you will come across a find when you least expect it. Do you collect Christmas items as well? I hope this helped, thanks again.

Thanks stepback for the info I have checked eBay a few times for prices and things I want. But I am so disgusted w/eBay&PayPal right now I only go on to check my auctions. Plus being a newbie w/vintage Halloween I need to hold and get a feel for the older pieces. This way I wont buy something made Yesterday in HongKong.....LOL. As far as Christmas...................yes & no. I was given all of my Father's family's antique German & Polish Hand Blown glass ornaments dating as far back as the 1880's. Some really outstanding and rare pieces. But every piece is gone, lost in a bad breakup and move. UGH I get sick whenever I think about what I lost. Last year I scored some nice pieces at an estate sale only to have the new family puppy tear down the tree! I still have a few vintage ornaments but until the kids are gone and animals old I don't collect Christmas (or at least try not to) I do love paper and have a nice collection of antique and vintage greeting, holiday & post cards.
      Thanks again for the info.
