    A HAPPY 2024 COLLECTOR'S WEEKLY!!
A PHOTOGRAPH FROM 1959 OF MY LATE PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, JOE AND PAULINE.
THE FOUR CHILDREN YOU SEE WOULD BE THE FIRST FOUR OF WHAT WOULD BECOME EIGHT CHILDREN, WITH MY LATE FATHER BEING THE OLDEST. HE IS STANDING NEXT TO GRANDPA.
MY GRANDPARENTS AND THE KIDS HERE, WERE BORN IN THE MUSCLE SHOALS AREA OF ALABAMA. IN 1963, MY GRANDFATHER MOVED THE FAMILY UP NORTH TO PEORIA, ILLINOIS, WHERE HE TOOK A JOB WITH CATERPILLER TRACTOR COMPANY, OF WHICH IS HEADQUARTED IN PEORIA..WHERE I WOULD BE BORN, MY HOMETOWN.
HE RETIRED AFTER 23 YEARS AND RETURNED TO MUSCLE SHOALS TO RETIRE. MY GRANDMOTHER, WAS A STAY AT HOME MOM RAISING EIGHT KIDS. TWO UNCLES AND THREE AUNT'S ARE STILL WITH ME.
NEW YEAR'S IS A TIME TO THINK FORWARD TO THE FUTURE, AND YET, ON THIS NEW YEARS DAY, I FIND MYSELF LOOKING BACK.
LOVE, PEACE AND PROSPERITY TO ALL FOR 2024!!

    THANK YOU,
    THOMAS H.

Thomas, when I first saw this, I thought, “Good Lord! That looks like my family!”
I’ve been working on scrapbooking all the old photos of my family. There’s a few made with my ancestors posed beside their cars, very similar to this picture. I’m SO glad they included the cars! That helps “tell” their stories; I know they were proud of their cars!
Thanks for sharing this picture….it provokes a “trip down Memory Lane” for me, and it’s not even my family!!
I’m wishing you and your family the best of everything in the new year!

I was able to work this photo as you may have already, not sure. I was able to get a version or maybe one that is more clear in seeing some of the people. I can send to you if you like> Phil.
