Post some additional photographs of the full table-- sides and bottom and someone can probably narrow down the year of manufacture.

I know nothing about furniture or wood, or the age of your piece, but that is the coat of arms of Yugoslavia. The Latin "Hoc signum vere regum est" means "This is the true signal of the kings" and "Plus Ultra" basically means more and beyond.

The initials "K" and "J" are for Kraljevina Jugoslavija or the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

Someone really did their research for a piece of silver which is the source of my information:

This arms can be easily confused with that of Lima, Peru, which has the same motto but has the initials "I" and "J" and the double-headed eagle faces the opposite direction:

Straitup57! Please look at my profile, I have a table very similar to yours!

the table has a Peruvian connection. my Dad was stationed down in Panama (Coco Solo), 1949-50, and flew the diplomatic missions to Central and South America. what i have in my possession. is a round, leather table, 36" in diameter, that he got in Lima, Peru. in its center is an outline map of South America, about 12" long. between that and the border, are the same, "branches," as straitup's table, but adorned with jaguars and birds. and the border is the same as the inner border on his table. a dashed, half-round, with a small center circle. and argentco, my brother has a rectangular table (my Dad purchased both at the same time), that looks to have the same dimensions as yours, but, like mine, has a jungle motif, but no map. i just came across this site yesterday, and will post pics in the near future.

argentco, a correction. my brother's table has a Lake Titicaca scene, with gondolero's in their reed boats, and animals like llamas. both tables have sterling silver, diamond-shaped studs, on the sides, ciao.

this clown email's me back that you can't contact other members, so you'll just have to hope someone re-checks the thread. what kind of an idiot website is this?

Wow...just bought a child's table with same description..lamas and coat of arms. It has the South American print on it in the leather. Absolutely beautiful!!!! I wish it would let me post a pic.

It`s Lima, Peru coat of arms, no doubt about it. The problem are two pillars on both sides being part of Spanish coat of arms. Probably carved historical coat of arms (after the independence).
