early child's working doll clothes washing machine. You add water and detergent to the wash compartment, add the doll clothes, wind it up and watch it bob back and forth to wash the clothing, This early toy is in excellent condition except for the flat spot on the ringer rolls. It stands about 14 inches tall, and about 12 inches wide. The glass washer lid has no chips or cracks and the washing compartment doesn't leak at all. A great early child's toy, probably from the late 1800s or the early 1900s.
The only markings are on the base stating "KIDDIE WASHER". There is no company or pat. date. I searched the internet for a similar machine similar to this, with no success. If anybody and help me with any information on the parent Co. or the pat. date information, I would greatly appreciate it.
P.S. I know that it has a later dated nut on one of the screws that hold it together. It was missing the proper nuts, so I replaced it with a modern nut until I can get a nut similar to the rest of the nuts.
This is fabulous! I can imagine a little girls excitement using it. Just like her Mommy!
My older sister accidentally got her hand squished painfully in the wringer of our granny’s wringer washer when we were children.
I suppose having a child size wringer could teach a very valuable lesson of keeping your fingers away from it.
I love your little washer ….what a great learning experience it must have been for the future wives and mothers.
thank you DejaVu2 and Watchsearcher for your nice comments
