I BOUGHT THIS PIECE FROM A COLLECTOR JUST RECENTLY. HE SAID IT IS A NORTHWOOD/FENTON QUESTION MARK AQA BLUE OPALESCENT QUESTION MARK PATTERN.
IT HAS ACTUALLY THREE PATTERNS ONE (THE QUESTION MARK) INTERIOR, THE EXTERION HAS GEORGIA BELLE? AND THE STEM HAS BELLE?. I RESEARCHED AND I FOUND THE SAME ITEM ON SALE AS RARE DUGAN PIECE. I AM MORE CONFUSED THEN EVER! WAS I FOOLED OR NOT? I MEAN IT IS BEUTYFUL BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHAT EXACTLY I HAVE
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?
Certainly looks like a Blue Opalescent Dugan 'Question Mark' piece to me.
I wouldent Call it Rare... It is a Dugan Opalescent Questions Marks...
Keep in mind that L.G. Wright had the moulds to this piece and had it reproduced in a nice translucent milk white that shows much fire and really looks like old glass. I won't go so far to say that all the opalescent pieces in this pattern are repros, but will say that I have never seen this compote in original ads or jobber catalogs in opalescent colors. Personally, I feel they are repros done for L.G. Wright, possibly as early as the 1940s.
