This Glass plate, Cake plate of course, Does anyone know this pattern and year and pattern of this plate, ok where is Paul and Tallcakes??? lol Tallcakes this should be your line of interest!! lol

One of my favorites; it is 'Manhattan' by U.S. Glass #15078, ca, 1902. I have 3 of them in different sizes, one in milk glass, that I need to get added to my website.
I'm still a bit baffled by the mention of USGCo's "highly ornate Manhattan pattern" mentioned in China, Glass, and Lamps in January 1898. The baffling thing is that the line number 15, 078 would place it around 1902 if we go by the company's numbering sequence. I need to research this more.
Keep in mind Tiffin did reissue/reproduce this shape in the 1950s-1960s. They made it in milk glass, Plum, and I believe Banana Yellow.

Thanks Paul, this might be something she purchased in that year 50's It will be interesting if this is from the old....Not a glass person to figure this out, can search the world over...I still see nothing...lol
Since original moulds were used, it would be difficult to tell the difference. Tiffin's glass was good quality, too. Pattern detail might be a little less distinct than on the original issue. The color of the clear glass would be different too (Tiffin's may have a very slightly yellowish caste, but not definite).

Tiffin is essentially an 'extension' of USG, so it is generally given that if started by USG that is who should be attributed. Of the 2 crystal salvers that I have the smaller one has a bit more glow under black light but the larger one has better detail. The detail that seems to deteriorate first is the tiny beading around the 'thumbprints'. Linda, you might check yours under black light, tho' that isn't necessarily a determinant of age but can be taken into consideration; also check the beading detail.
