    Hello Everyone,
I hope this weekend is bringing fun and excitement for all of you. This afternoon I purchased a pair of "Glass and silver canisters" .. I don't know maybe they are jars? I don't know what you would put in them since the glass pushes put ... maybe cotton balls? They stand 9 1/2 inches tall and the base is 4 1/2 inches across. I think it would be great with a candle in them but when you put the lid on no air .. no air no flame, and what pain to clean them!
The glass is glass .. and there is the unmistakeable smell of silver. I cleaned a very small spot on the bottom with Gorhams paste .. did a nice job .. has the look of older silver (Dull not shiny). No markings I can find. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these.
I think they are beautiful. If they are worthless they go on Ebay lol ( I paid $3.00 for the pair ... or if valuable I may split them up and give one to my daughter and one to my son (I have no more room!).
Thanks for any help you may have.
Thanks for this wonderful and valuable sight!
There's still another day to the weekend so go and have some fun :-)
    Lauren

You may need to look with a magnifying glass, but if it is silver it has to be marked somewhere. Look on the bottom, under the lid, around the top rim. They are beautiful. I see a cathedral.
It could be pewter.. Pewter is dull. Good Luck!
