UKELIN by the International Music Company.
These instruments, sold under the name of "ukelin" sometimes "harp violin," were made by the International Music Company They were sold by mail order or door-to-door.
This was given to me by a family member. They are not very valuable but very interesting. This one came with an instruction booklet
    and sheet music.

You are right vintagelamp, it's very interesting, is it played using a bow? I checked out others online, and Yours is by far the nicest looking. :^D Thanks for posting, Bill :^)

      billretirecoll,
Yes, I believe the bow is in one of the pictures. It may be hard to see.
I actually think that I need a new bow, since the main piece is missing.
      I appreciate the kind comment!

I see there is a similar one on etsy, almost makes me want to buy:

O.K. it must be yours. Reminds me of one Joni Mitchell used in some of her songs.

I've seen some stuff on YouTube and I have to say what a great sound. It is also quite unique that this instrument can be played in more than one way.
Take up the challenge and try to make music. That's what this instrument was made for.

      PhilDMorris,
Thank you! I will have to check out Joni Mitchell! This one belonged to my sister-in-law's father.

      mp.kunst,
Yes. I definitely want to play this. Thank you!
