This chair was given to my wife and I by her grandmother. It was bought in the 1940's-50's. Just curious if anyone knows the worth of it.

Looks like a Nichols and Stone Rocker, and you should find a stamp on the underside to that effect. I have one that is almost identical. It is the rocker that my Mother-in-law rocked my husband in when he was a baby and that was in the late 40's. Ebay has a more ornate version with an asking price of $400.00, but you can check this site: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Collectibles-General-Antiques-682/2009/9/Nichols-Stone-rocking-chair.htm to see that it probably has more sentimental value than monetary.

Definitely agree with Lbriggs. I have refinished a few Nichols and Stone Rockers, look just like yours. I have not been able to sell mine for too much but one thing is for sure, these are sturdy strong rockers. Enjoy!
