I had got these from my mom years ago I have never seen anything like them before When I got my ears pierced as a little girl it was with a needle by the instructions that came with these it makes them sound like a torture device
Can anyone fill me in about the time period that they would have come out with something like this I have had them myself for about twenty years so it seems

I remember these very well, I had friends who used them to pierce their ears. I remember them from the '60s.

I let do this when a was 11 years old by a jeweler with a needle and a cork behind the ear lap. Indeed a torture because he put directly in some old fashioned earrings with a hook. The must be trown through those fresh made holes in my ear. Here in my country it was also long time a work at home or at a store till we cot the machine to do it mechanical. I cannot remember me earrings for this purpose!

I love it now I was asked to pierce my granddaughter's ears so of course I bought a piercing gun it cost a little but well worth it

These are great, my Grandmother pierced my three sister’s ear lopes and mine when we were in our early teens (I'm 55 now). They are as simple as can be and don't hurt like the guns, it just a very little pressure on a tiny spot, they really don't hurt. I had a second hole done with a gun and it was more pain then I was ready for. First clean ear lobes and earrings in alcohol, mark the spot on the ear with a pen, pull the hoops open and put them in place exactly where you want the hole. The wearer then squeezes them now and then and in about a week or so when the hoop spins around your ears are pierced. Remove them and put solid silver or gold earrings in to complete healing. I don't think they would work through cartilage; they were made for piercing ear lobes.
I've looked for a pair of these for years, if you are interested in selling them please email me at cindyrisy@cox.net. 11/10/12

I bought a pair of these in the late '60s, put them in my ears and a month later they were pierced - no fuss - no muss. Didn't hurt at any time in any way. It took a little longer than what the instructions said, so every once in a while I would pinch them a bit. I never talked to anyone else who pierced them this way, but I did and I HIGHLY recommend it. Anytime anyone asks me how they should pierce their ears I tell them to try to find self-piercing earings. All my friends were plagued with infections and pain, but not me with the self-piercers.

These are awesome! This is how I pierced my ears early to mid 60's...I wish they were still around. I have never had any issues with the results. No closures, no infections, or anything.

I got my ears pierced with self piercing earrings at age 7 in 1969...mine had a lil spring coil on the back not the tube like urs.. it took like 3 wks for them to go thru cuz I remember freaking out and crying with excitement when I was fiddling with one and it just started to spin. .I was so excited I got them for my birthday..wish they still made them. .never a problem with those piercings!

I pierced my ears using these in the 60's also. I would love to purchase them again but cannot find them anywhere. They had a spring coil like "Itsbethdarlin" said. Does anyone know where they are sold? I had tw0 (2) sets of holes but one set closed up and I would like to do my own again. It worked so very well. I'm older now and have an extremely low tolerance for pain. Back then this was not painful at all.

I would love to find the self piercing earrings from the 60’s.
In 1968 my cousin pierced my ears using these earrings and it was also problem free. Those earrings were used to pierce the ears of 6 people. Pretty amazing.
