My first piece :) What is it ? Lisner?

I bought this at a resale shop because I have never seen anything like it ...who would wear a wood stove for a brooch lol ...if anyone can give me any details or age or anything about this it would be greatly appreciated :) It plainly is stamped with the word Lisner on the back and a circle with a "c" in it..
