I recently stayed at the Queen Mary again as they offered me a deal I could not resist. I spent a lot of time exploring the ship This time I made my way down to the R Deck where three photos are from.
First are a pair of elevator doors.
Next is I am not sure but it must be the entrance to someplace nice. Note we are in the first class section of the ship near the center. where the ride is smoother. Second class it at the ends of the ship which went up and down quite a bit.
3rd is the first class swimming pool. The ship did not have stabilization which meant a lot of side to side action so the pool quite contained.
Last is a bit of detail from the Observation Deck bar. It is 2 decks below the bridge. Yes I did have a Bloody Mary on the Queen Mary.
You took some great photos. The Uplighter lamps were a great part of Art Deco also used in the Normandie Luxury Liner in France. I never seen it in Red as the pics mainly in books are black and white !~
Super. I like art deco
Thank you very much Phil. The past was more colorful than it seems.
