Both about 3.5" tall, made of wood and hand painted. This is my first encounter with amulets like this so borrowing the seller's description, which they borrowed from Wikipedia, while I do some research:

"Somin Shorai", amulets that ward off disease from the Shinano Kokubun-ji (Buddhist temple) in Nagano. In Japanese mythology and folklore, Somin Shorai was a poor man who gave food and shelter to a certain god in the guise of a traveler, who was looking for a place to stay. As a reward, the god provided Somin Shorai's family a means to save themselves from an oncoming pestilence that eventually claimed the lives of those who had turned him away earlier. Amulets bearing Somin Shorai's name are still popularly held to ward off disease and misfortune. (Wikipedia)
I was very surprised to find that CW has a category for these. Looks like CWs servers are "tits up" right now and I have tried several times to upload this post without success. Apologies if they later all post. I will delete the extras but probably not tonight.
Thanks for checking out my Japanese amulets, WhenIsraelbelieves, dav2no1, Truthisanarrow08, fortapache and Vynil33rpm!
Thank you, kev123 and Kevin!
