I've been scouring the internet trying to find information on this vintage Oris watch. I've learned so much about Oris, that is it so well respected, and that it's strictly a mechanical movement manufacturer, which is very impressive!
I've also learned that the shield on the back, with the diagonol "ORIS" dates this watch to the 1960s-70s. The back also says: "Water Resistant" "Shock Resistant" "Oris Watch Co. Swiss" and "Stainless Steel Back".
The watch features red hour markers, plus "mirrored" or reflective hour markers, and a blue face, with white minute indicators. It also has a second hand and date. It measures 1 5/8" across (including crown). Of course, it also says "Swiss Made" at the bottom of the face.
I'm not sure if the watch band is original, it is also stainless steel and says Kestenmade USA and a patent number on the clasp.
I'd love to find out the model name and the approximate value, and if it's worth fixing and keeping. (Lots of scratches on the face, but it looks very nice on, much better than off!)
Any help would be appreciated!
I have also just come across this same watch that I believe was my grandfathers. I dont have any information for you but I was wondering if you had found any new information on it. the band is different then the picture of yours. I was also looking for a value on it.
I found "Friends of Oris" and posted my question there too. This was the response: http://www.friendsoforis.com/forum/index.php?/topic/37438-oris-17-jewels-stainless-steel-with-blue-dial/
