Picked this up in a local op shop a few months ago, but hadn't got around to posting.
I don't normally collect either clear or cut glass, but this was super cheap & in nice condition, so I just couldn't leave it on the shelf.
Made from fairly thick clear glass, it measures 20 cm tall, 4 cm across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base. It has a hexagonal section, with nicely detailed cut decoration & some snazzy ruby red vertical stripes.
I see these get called Victorian, & often they seem to have silver tops. To me this one looks a little Art Deco but maybe it was just ahead of its time.
Origin uncertain.
