Hello everyone!!
Among all of the wonderful gifts I received for Christmas, are these wonderful "21" Club style jockey bookends. I've wanted a set of these for years, but they're always too far out of my price range. My wife says she got an incredible deal on them, but not sure how incredible:)
Anyway, they're beauties!! All original condition with a minor chip here and there. Otherwise, in spectacular condition. I do not know the age of these jockeys, but they're from somewhere between the 1930's and 1950's. I'm leaning more toward the 1950 era. Most sellers want $1000 plus for just one of these. So, now you understand why they're outside of my budget.
The jockeys are 9" tall and the maple wood bases are 4" x 4" x 3 1/2". They have 1/2" thick 3" round lead weights in the bottoms of the bases to give them some heft. Otherwise, they'd probably tip over very easily.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
